You may encounter problems during installation if there

down other applications that are running. Run the
installation again.
_______________
RE-BOOTING YOUR SYSTEM:
If you encounter problems when using this software,
it is best to re-boot the system to eliminate any
accumulated memory problems.
_______________
SHUTTING DOWN THE SYSTEM WHILE RUNNING THE PROGRAM:
If you shut down the system while running the program,
the software will be terminated without saving your
current designs.
_______________
CHANGING THE MONITOR COLOR DEPTH:
To improve the appearance of the software on your
monitor, you should set the monitor depth to 16-bit
or higher. To do this, click on the START menu,
choose SETTINGS and select CONTROL PANEL. Double
click on DISPLAY. Choose SETTINGS and change
the COLOR PALETTE to HIGH COLOR (or TRUE COLOR).
_______________
IF YOU DO NOT HEAR ANY SOUNDS:
If you are not hearing any music or other sounds while
running the program, first check to see that your speakers
are turned on and the volume is turned up. Then, check
that the music is on by clicking on the Music Note at the
top of the screen and select Tracks 1-5. If you still
don't hear sounds, try changing your "Sound Out" settings
within QuickTime(R) by following these steps:
1. Click on the Start/Settings/Control Panel

3. Click on the pull down menu and select "Sound Out"
4. From Choose a device for playback:, select "waveOut"
5. Exit the QuickTime(R) settings
_______________

To adjust the size of the sound buffers, you need to:
1. Click on the Start/Settings/Control Panel
2. Double click on the QuickTime(R) icon
3. Click on the pull down menu and select "Sound Out"
4. Select the waveOut or DirectSound(R) device
(depending on what is installed on your system)

180, etc.)
7. Keep adjusting the settings until the audio problem
is corrected.
_______________
PROGRAM FREEZES OR LOCKS UP:

desktop and select "Properties"

"Performance" tab.
3. Click on the "Graphics" button.
4. Within the "Advanced Graphics Setting", adjust your
graphics acceleration to the "basic" setting.

changes to take effect.
______________
LOST PRINTER COMMUNICATION
If you get a dialog box saying that 2-way
communication with your printer has been lost
(most commonly seen on the HP(R) DeskJet(R) 600
series), try quitting the software, re-booting
your computer, re-starting the software, and
turning off the music in the program before trying
to print again. To turn off the music, click on
the Music Note at the top of the screen and
select None.
______________
AUTO PLAY FEATURE INTERRUPTS SOFTWARE WHILE
ALREADY PLAYING:
Try disabling the Auto Play feature:
1. Right click on "My Computer" located on your
desktop and select "Properties".
2. Within the "System Properties" dialog box, select the
"Device Manager" tab.
3. Click on the plus sign of your CD-ROM icon to
display your type of CD-ROM drive.
4. Click once on your type of CD-ROM drive.
5. Click on "Properties".
6. Click on the "Setting" tab.
7. If "Auto insert notification" is checked, click to
uncheck the Auto Play feature.
8. Click OK to exit.
_______________
THE MUSIC DOES NOT TURN OFF:
On rare occasions, when you click "None" from the
dialog box nothing happens and music continues playing.
If you want to turn the music off, click to go to another
screen and turn the music off at that screen.
_______________
LOADING PHOTO CD FILES INTO THE PHOTOS FOLDER:
For best results, copy only the numbered PCD
files (such as 00001.PCD) into the PHOTOS folder.
Browse through the Photo CD to find the numbered
image files with the .PCD file extension (commonly
in a folder called "IMAGES"). Check the small previews
of your photos on the Photo CD cover for how the photo
files were numbered. Photo files are often very large
so you should copy only those files that you want to
use in the software to the PHOTOS folder in the
FASHION MAGIC(TM) folder. It's always a good
idea to rename the files with a name that will be easier
to identify.
_______________
USING SCANNERS AND DIGITAL CAMERAS ON THE PC:
If nothing happens after you've selected your device, try
using the Alt-Tab keys to bring your scanner software to
the foreground.
If your scanner or camera is not TWAIN compatible or you
are having trouble getting your files into the design
directly from the scanner or camera, you can still import
your photos into the software. Simply use your scanner or
camera software to create the files, then save the files
as JPEG, PICT, or TIFFs. Copy these files into the
PHOTO or ARTSTUFF folder in the Fashion Magic(TM) folder.
Now you can import the images into the Fashion Magic(TM)
TankTop CD-ROM Kit software by clicking on the Camera on
the left side of the screen, then clicking on the Computer
Tab above the scroll box to see the folders and files on
your hard drive.
_______________
MY DESIGN TAKES A LONG TIME TO PRINT:
You may experience very slow printing when your
monitor depth is set to 256-colors. If available, change
your monitor settings to a higher color depth to speed
the printing. Also, designs that have a lot of graphics
or photos can also take longer to print. To change your
monitor color depth, click on the Start menu and choose
Settings and then Control Panel. Double click on Display.
Choose settings and change the color palette to high
color (or true color).

IF YOU ARE USING A MACINTOSH(R) COMPUTER:
SHUTTING DOWN THE SYSTEM WHILE RUNNING THE PROGRAM:
If you shut down the system while running the program,
the software will be terminated without saving your
current designs.
_______________
PROBLEMS INSTALLING OR RUNNING THE SOFTWARE:
Some systems may be unable to auto install or run if
File Sharing is "on". Go to the APPLE(R) menu and then
to CONTROL PANELS/FILE SHARING. Turn File Sharing "off".
Also be sure that total available RAM is greater
than 40 MB.
_______________
MACINTOSH(R) COMPUTER MEMORY REQUIREMENTS:
Fashion Magic(TM) TankTop CD-ROM Kit requires a
minimum of 24MB of available RAM on a Macintosh(R)
Computer. If you have other programs running, close
them first. If your system has less than the required
24 MB, you'll need to turn on virtual memory. From the
Control Panel, open Memory, turn on virtual memory,
and set the memory to approximately 40 MBs (some
systems may need to be set higher). This should
allow enough memory to run the System software,
TankTop CD-ROM Kit, and a print monitor.
If you have enough physical RAM available on your
system (over 32 MB), turn virtual memory off to
improve the performance of TankTop CD-ROM Kit software.
_______________
THE BOX BEHIND THE TEXT IS PRINTING INCORRECTLY:
You may see some "banding" in the box behind the text in
your design due to a conflict with certain video drivers
when the monitor is set to millions of colors. To fix the
printing problem, change the monitor setting to THOUSANDS
OF COLORS (see below).
_______________
CHANGING THE MONITOR COLOR DEPTH:
To improve the performance of the software, you should
set the monitor depth to THOUSANDS OF COLORS. To do this,
click on the Apple(R) Menu and choose the CONTROL PANEL
and select monitors. Set the color depth to thousands of
colors.
_______________
USING SCANNERS AND DIGITAL CAMERAS ON
A MACINTOSH(R) COMPUTER:
Only scanners and digital cameras that are fully TWAIN
compliant can be used directly within Fashion Magic(TM)
TankTop CD-ROM Kit. Many Macintosh(R) scanners use
PhotoShop(R) plug-ins which are not an open standard.
If your scanner or camera is not TWAIN compatible or you
are having trouble getting your files into the design
directly from the scanner or camera, you can still import
your photos into the software. Simply use your scanner or
camera software to create the files, then save the files
as JPEG, PICT, or TIFFs. Copy these files into the
PHOTOS or ARTSTUFF folder in the Fashion Magic(TM) folder.
Now you can import the images into the Fashion Magic(TM)
TankTop CD-ROM Kit software by clicking on the Camera on
the left side of the screen, then clicking on the Computer
Tab above the scroll box to see the folders and files on
your hard drive.
